A failed OSU 65/65 heat release result late in a completion project means gutting finished panels, missing delivery penalties, and damaged relationships with subcontractors and clients. It's almost never one bad material — individual components routinely pass FAR 25.853(d) on their own. The failure shows up only once veneer, adhesive, substrate, topcoat, or hydrographic finish are assembled into the finished part.

Can I simply buy fire retardant chemicals from you?
No. Certification is a calculated process unique to each material combination. What you're buying is OFPSI's expertise, gained over thousands of trials, and a process spec for your exact case.
I have a material that already failed. What do I do now?
Call us with the material composition, test results and samples. If we've had success with similar combinations, we can often find a solution quickly.
Does the treatment change the appearance of the material?
No. In years of application we haven't found a material our flame retardant altered. It's water-based, dries clear, and remains permanently invisible.
Are there long-term effects on the material?
None reported. With years in service and thousands of flight hours, OFPSI has had no complaints of reduced performance or side effects on treated materials.
How long from treatment to test-ready?
Depending on sample buildup, material can ship the same day it's treated. A good rule of thumb is 24 to 48 hours.
Can OFPSI get hardwood to pass FAR 25.853(d)?
We're not aware of any solid wood meeting FAA requirements, but we've achieved success with many veneers.
